do revivals still work

Many question if a series of meetings (commonly known as revival meetings) still work in the day in which we live. I must answer with a resounding, “Yes!” Whether you call it a revival, conference, festival, or various other names, I am convinced that when a body of believers set aside a time to meet and seek the Lord, He will show up and do what only He can do (by His Spirit) in those willing hearts. Jeremiah 29:13 says, “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”

It is not that revivals don’t work, it is that we are unwilling to sacrifice the time to search for the Lord with all of our heart. It is a promise that if you seek Him, you will find Him! If you have a shepherd or shepherds who are hungering and thirsting for a move of God in their lives and the lives of their congregation, who prepare their people (through prayer and fasting) to search for the Lord with all their heart, and have a willingness to sacrifice the time to meet together (to give the Lord the opportunity to move), then He will.

“Oh that thou wouldest rend (tear open) the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow (shake) down at thy presence.” (Isaiah 64:1) I believe with all of my heart that God is just waiting for His people to BE WILLING to get out of their routine, sacrifice the time, seek His face, and give Him room to work. Then, He will show up! “’…Return to Me,’ says the LORD of hosts: ‘and I will return to you…’”

We must understand that revival is for the Church. Many people say, “Well nobody will show up if we have a series of meetings.” Therein lies the issue, which should concern the shepherd and us. The question is not, “Do revivals still work?” Rather the question is, “Are we willing?”

I would love to be a part of a mighty move of the Lord, in your church! Please let me know if I can be of assistance, if the Lord so leads.

In Christ alone,
Craig
